Terms, Privacy & Refund Policy

This single legal document covers all three sections required by PayHere: Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy. All users must accept this before any plan purchase.

1. Terms of Service

Rovana is an AI-powered investment intelligence platform serving the Sri Lankan financial market. By accessing Rovana, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1.1 Service Overview

Rovana provides real-time market analysis, signal generation, AI advisor consultations, and watchlist management tools for CSE (Colombo Stock Exchange) stocks and macro indicators.

1.2 User Responsibilities

  • You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information.
  • You agree not to engage in fraud, hacking, or unauthorized access.
  • You are responsible for maintaining password confidentiality.
  • You agree not to use Rovana for illegal activities or market manipulation.

1.3 Investment Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: Rovana provides analysis and signals for educational purposes only. It is NOT investment advice. Trading and investing carry substantial risk of loss. Always consult a licensed financial advisor before making investment decisions. Rovana and its creators assume no liability for trading losses or market downturns.

1.4 Intellectual Property

All content, algorithms, designs, and trademarks are owned by Rovana or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or transmit content without explicit permission.

1.5 Limitation of Liability

Rovana is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Rovana, including but not limited to trading losses or data loss.

1.6 Service Changes & Availability

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue Rovana at any time without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service availability.

2. Privacy Policy

2.1 Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account Information: Email, name, password (hashed), profile preferences.
  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, stocks viewed, signals generated, time spent on platform.
  • Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, timestamps.
  • Payment Information: PayHere processes payments; we receive transaction status and order ID only (no card details).
  • Chat Interactions: Messages sent to AI Advisor (for training and quality improvement, with anonymization).

2.2 How We Use Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve Rovana services.
  • Process subscriptions, payments, and billing.
  • Send service updates, feature announcements, and critical alerts.
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve signal quality and UX.
  • Detect fraud, abuse, and security threats.
  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements in Sri Lanka.
  • Train and improve AI models (chat interactions are anonymized).

2.3 Data Sharing

We do NOT sell or rent user data to third parties. We only share data when:

  • Required by law or government request (with advance notice where possible).
  • Necessary to prevent fraud or security threats.
  • With service providers (e.g., Supabase for databases, Vercel for hosting) under confidentiality agreements.
  • With AI model providers (Anthropic, Perplexity) for chat analysis — always anonymized.

2.4 Data Retention

We retain your account data as long as your subscription is active or for legal/tax purposes. You may request data deletion by contacting support. Chat logs are retained for 90 days, then anonymized for model training.

2.5 Security

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL, bcrypt hashing, HTTPS-only) to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure. We are not liable for unauthorized access resulting from force majeure or user negligence (e.g., shared passwords).

2.6 Your Rights

  • Access: You can download your profile and usage data anytime.
  • Correction: Update your account info at any time.
  • Deletion: Request full account deletion (note: billing records retained for 7 years per Sri Lankan tax law).
  • Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails anytime.

2.7 Cookies

Rovana uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics without your consent.

2.8 Policy Changes

We may update this policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued use of Rovana after changes constitutes acceptance.

3. Refund & Cancellation Policy

3.1 Overview

Rovana offers a 7-day money-back guarantee for all subscription plans if you are not satisfied with the service. No questions asked.

📌 Refund Method: All approved refunds will be credited back exclusively to the same payment method (payment-initiated media) used at the time of purchase. If you paid by credit or debit card, the refund will be returned to that same card. If you paid via bank transfer or any other payment method, the refund will be returned to the originating account. Rovana does not issue refunds to a different payment method than the one originally used.

3.2 Eligibility

  • Refunds are available within 7 calendar days of purchase.
  • Only applies to the subscription payment itself, not to additional charges or taxes.
  • Account must not have been used to manipulate markets or commit fraud.
  • Only one refund per user account (abuse of this policy may result in account suspension).

3.3 How to Request a Refund

  1. Go to Account → Billing and click Request Refund.
  2. Select the subscription to refund and provide a reason (optional).
  3. Confirm. You will receive a refund confirmation email within 24 hours.
  4. The refund will be processed back to the exact same payment method used at purchase (payment-initiated media) within 5–7 business days.

3.3A Refund to Payment-Initiated Media

In accordance with payment gateway regulations, all refunds are issued exclusively to the original payment-initiated media:

  • Credit / Debit Card: Refund to the same card used at checkout. Processing time: 5–7 business days.
  • Bank Transfer: Refund to the originating bank account. Processing time: 3–5 business days.
  • Other PayHere-supported methods: Refund to the same source account. Processing time: 5–7 business days.

Rovana cannot redirect refunds to a different card, bank account, or payment method than the one originally used. If the original payment method is no longer available (e.g., expired card), please contact support and we will coordinate directly with PayHere.

3.4 Subscription Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time from Account → Billing. Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing cycle, after which it will not renew.

3.5 Non-Refundable Items

  • Refunds cannot be issued for accounts suspended due to ToS violations.
  • Any service outages caused by force majeure (internet outages, server failures, natural disasters) do not entitle refunds.
  • Gift subscriptions or promotional credits are non-refundable.

3.6 Credit Card Chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback with your payment provider instead of requesting a refund through Rovana, your account will be suspended and you will forfeit the refund. Always request refunds directly through the app.

3.7 Trial Period (Free Plan)

The Free plan is permanent and ad-free. Upgrades from Free to Pro/Enterprise are subject to the 7-day refund guarantee. Downgrades from Pro to Free are immediate and non-refundable.
